Buffalo MPCV Resin Wheels (for Bronco)
1:35 ET Model

boxtop.jpg

The Bronco models kit of this unusual looking Mine Protected Combat Vehicle is rather nice, and the wheels provided with the kit are pretty good. They're a little light on hub detail however, and the tread pattern is a little soft, so they can be improved on. There are seven wheels in total, including one replacement that sits on the port side sloped side in case of damage.

The Set
Contained on one of ET Models black backing cards in their usual thick polythene slip, the wheels are superbly detailed and have only a small casting block to remove, which is right at the flat-spot, so won't be seen on any of the installed road wheels. The flat spots themselves are petite and almost invisible in bright light, but show up better under directional light, so you'll not be accused of needing to "pump up the tyres" by any bystanders. Where the resin wheels really score is in the hub detail and tread pattern, which is far better than the kit's styrene parts. The sidewalls also have the correct scalloping of the surface of these run-flat tyres, while the kit parts have this inverted and although it looks quite nice, it's not correct from the examples I have seen.

Conclusion
The real thing costs around $10m per vehicle, and the Bronco kit isn't a cheap one at between £40 to £60, so getting the best tyres for the job is a wise investment. Preparation of the parts will take a matter of minutes, with no seams to hide, and fewer parts, as well as the improvement in the look. What's not to like?
