Stesca Posted February 24, 2013 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Picked up an Airfix 1/48th. scale Hawk T1 yesterday, when I opened it I was amazed at the warpage in the wings, it seemed to be the way they are held on the sprues, also some warpage in the fuselage halves as well, am I unlucky or is this common? tonyp Posted February 24, 2013 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Very common Steve, I asked for a replacement set from Airfix and they too were slightly warped. Good news is, they straighten out somewhat when glued together. Although I did have to use lots of pressure to get it to stick and lie flat. Stesca Posted February 24, 2013 Author Share Posted February 24, 2013 Thanks for that, I have indeed glued, taped, grunted my way through to getting them reasonable, I am not even ready to start building it yet but when I saw the state of them, my peverse side got the better of me and I just had to get them sorted if poss. before putting it back in the box!
