Leadsolo
Oh yes, it really is. Despite the struggles I find I do enjoy it because it's a challenge. It's almost back to basics in some cases. I've just found the cannon barrels are out of true so I've butchered some sprue and the unused later style barrels to make a new set. I'm sure the canopy will be fine once it's done. I don't plan to buy any more....I have plenty of older kits in the stash which will challenge me as well.
andrewfl290
I've just found the cannon barrels are out of true so I've butchered some sprue and the unused later style barrels to make a new set. I'd forgotten the cannon barrels, I replaced mine with a machined set.......and I've just remembered the u/c. I tried to clean mine up but ended up replacing it.
Leadsolo
I think the undercarriage is usable. Just. Being a bit of a tight sod and seeing as this is a commission on a fixed price, I'm a little reluctant to splash out on extras if I can produce passable items from scratch. That said....the brass barrels from Hannants do look very nice....
Leadsolo
The final product is here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234952426-132-pacific-coast-models-spitfire-ixc/?hl=leadsolo complete with some pics of the trestle table and figure I've made for the base as well. Now I just need to assemble it all....
