LDSModeller
Nice Build Well done I think you may have a problem with some of the roundels facing the wrong way old chap ! Cheers Hi Your RNZAF Blunty looks really good - nice colours depicted too. As Norman says in the above quote some of your roundels are facing the wrong way. The Kiwi (as with the RAAF Roo) should always face forward, and on wings, feet toward the fuselage. It happens sometimes on the real aircraft too http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l261/SpazSinbad/BackwardsKiwi876NowraToNZlarge.jpg Thanks for sharing your photos Regards Alan

M4rk
Thanks guys, nice to see you like it. Nice Build Well done I think you may have a problem with some of the roundels facing the wrong way old chap ! Cheers Norman (and Alan), I was already aware of the problem with the kiwi roundels, its a kit issue though as you only get the left-facing type on the sheet. I did not have time to source replacements unfortunately. Cheers
LDSModeller
Thanks guys, nice to see you like it. Norman (and Alan), I was already aware of the problem with the kiwi roundels, its a kit issue though as you only get the left-facing type on the sheet. I did not have time to source replacements unfortunately. Cheers All good, it's a pity that kit manufacturers don't research these things, before issuing a kit. A simple web search would have given them the answers they needed. If you (or any other modellers) ever need RNZAF Decals for future builds, Ventura Publications do RNZAF decals for most of our aircraft that have been in service (if you're in the UK -Hannants.) http://www.venturapublications.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=83&zenid=t03jt3lt4pn1k9uu3gi84ei415 Hannants http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?setPerPage=25&manufacturer_id=8252&search_direction=asc&pageID=2 Kind Regards Alan
Silver Fox
Oddly, the kit decals are correct as it depicts the warbird that flew in the UK and that had the kiwi facing aft on the starboard side!!! http://www.adf-gallery.com.au/gallery/NZ-Strikemaster/ME_G_BXFP For a proper Kiwi Blunty however the decals are not comprehensive enough, no 14 Squadron markings and no last two repeated on the tail are just a couple of the issues. Cracking build though.
M4rk
Interesting. I had noticed it was missing the other markings towards the end as well. An opportunity there for an aftermarket decal company to issue a correction sheet I'd say. The base kit is pretty good though.

Phil
It's a very nice build. I think it is disappointing that Fly chose a warbird scheme that does not accurately represent the scheme the aircraft wore in service. An odd choice of markings for a kit. Tempestwulf
Nice Blunty mate, you don't see the RNZAF Strikemaster much at all. They still have a couple at Woodbourne for training the mechanics on
