fatfingers
How do chaps, Pulled this from the pile today. Nice little kit with three body options and a boat load of alternate weapons fit. Decided to go with the 'Steel Legion' option. I've left the leg joints free to move, once its on the base in the desired postion i'll add a drop of superglue to hold the joints fast. The base is just a plain black disk. I'd seen a vid on you tube by a chap called 'buypainted' on how to tart them up with cork tile. Ten mins later I had this. The gravel is brick dust held with white glue. Just a few bits to fill and tidy up and then its ready for some paint. More soon. Will Vale
Nice job so far, the bits hanging over the edge of the base are a good idea - draws the eye in while still letting you have a nice edge underneath. I'm glad I'm not the only person who watches those Buypainted vids - I really like his style. Will

fatfingers
Thanks for the comments chaps, Looking good Steve, you decided on colour yet? Yep, see below for more! Nice job so far, the bits hanging over the edge of the base are a good idea - draws the eye in while still letting you have a nice edge underneath.I'm glad I'm not the only person who watches those Buypainted vids - I really like his style. Will Thanks Will. buypainted's vids are somewhat hypnoyic. Even my good lady likes to watch them too! Buypainted is a legend! Only man I've ever seen airbrush 28mm faces! I'm really looking forward to this one ff! I know, he's crazy! Don't think my airbrush skills would stretch to that! Any hooo, been busy this morning and here's some pics for your delectation! Undercoated in Vallejo Black Primer. The hydraulic rams in the legs were masked off after the black undercoat and will be picked out in a steel colour, buts thats for another day After a bit of deliberation, I decided to go with a main colour of Vallejo Model Air Dark Green. Looked a bit bland when done, so I did this... And added some of this to the squirt gun... This is what I got... I rather like the end result A bit of detail painting followed. Exhaust stacks picked out in Hull Red. Various bits of ducting/hoses etc picked out in Blue Grey. More to follow in due course. fatfingers
How do chaps, Been doing a bit of detail painting and adding washes. The hydraulic rams on the legs were picked out in GW Boltgun Metal. GW Nuln Oil wash was then added in varying ammounts around the legs feet and where oil might leak etc. Devlan Mud came next but concentrating on the feet and lower legs. Agrax Earthshade was also washed around various bits of raised detail. I also picked out the small panels on the lower legs in Vallejo Duck Egg Green. This was also added to the lower body rear. The upper body was washed with Nuln Oil around raised detail and in various recesses. The flash on the camera makes it look harsher than it actually is! Various bits were also picked out and a bit of wear was added to the edge of the sand coloured panel. I also picked out the 'chin' of the fighting compartment in the same Duck Egg Green. I reakoned on this being some kind of squadron marking or troop leaders vehicle It should tone down once more weathering is applied. Am quite tempted to do another one of these as a troop commanders Sentinel with blue feet! A couple of decals to be added and the periscopes to be painted and then some more weathering up next. fatfingers
How do chaps, Decals on and washes and drybrushing added to model. Drybrushing is mainly GW Scorched Brown and a bit of GW Graveyard Earth. The decals are from the original Airfix Gnat kit. The base was given a second coat of black and then drybrushed with various shades of Vallejo grey and some dark earth in selected areas. And finally, the legs attached to the base. Well, Its actualy now finished and in RFI for perusal by all Regards, Steve
