Dereknf
Here is my take on the Hobbyboss 1/32 Spitfire Vb. Finished as EP120 from 402Sqn RCAF in 1943, based at RAF Merston in Sussex, I used a replacement tailplane and spinner/propeller and decals from Xtradecal sheet 32042 and painted with Tamiya spray cans and Xtracrylix. A nice kit with some issues but generally an enjoyable build. I was going to flat coat it with Tamiya TS-80 Flat Coat until I read that it said on the can, "Do not spray over decals and stickers".! So I decided to leave it glossy as it is today as EP120 still flies in these markings as G-LFVB, belonging to the Fighter Collection at Duxford Anyway, here it is.

Alan Kelley
Looks great. After putting decals on any of my kits, I give them another coat of Klear over them, do my weathering, then use Flat coat. That should protect the decals- I have never had any problems. Tim T
Nice to see a 'factory fresh' example. That looks lovely.
Spitfire31
A great build! So nice to see that smooth finish, with realistically 'burnt metal' exhausts and with no unsightly black 'emphasised' panel lines in sight. Also – kudos for a cockpit entry hatch that doesn't hang down limply! Kind regards, Joachim
R A Ferguson
They just get better and better, and I must agree with some of the comments about seeing a "factory fresh" one. I am never too keen on over done panel lines but that is just a personal thing and it is always up to the modeller themseves and what they like.. rmcclure
Great build and what a beautiful aeroplane - I always enjoy seeing another Spitfire in any guise. I've heard the same about Tamiya flat coat but Revell Aqua matt varnish works well - easy to spray when thinned appropriately and leaves a good finish. Dereknf
Many thanks for the kind comments folks. I'm on a steep learning curve when it comes to spray paints - well outside my comfort zone!
oddball1973
I've found that Vallejo's Flat coat works very well for the final finish
keith in the uk
Looks very nice , was tempted to buy one recenly. Not sure of the windscreen shape , looks to upright to me ( Trumpeters kit has the same fault ) If you can find one from the old Hasagawa VB kit that should improve matters.
