Help with SHAR 1/24th decals

I have an Airfix 1/24th SHAR that needs building. For various reasons extending back to childhood I want to build the model as XZ457, also known as black 14, based with 899sqn from Hermes.

My problem is that I can't find any suitable decal packs, but I will be content to use the kit decals if I can obtain the appropriate nose & registration number decals.

Has anyone got any ideas of a suitable source? I've looked at Hannants but nothing seems to come up to help.

I'm not aware of any decal sheets that have that option. You can cobble together the serials numbers from the kit decals, but the nose numbers are a difficult one. You could try one of the custom decal makers, or even ikjet decals.

Thanks Dave, indeed it is the nose numbers that are being elusive. I'll see about inkjet decals as I'm sure the ability to custom produce decals will be handy again.

The latest edition of this kit contains the decals for XZ457 '14'. Why not contact Airfix and see if they can help?
