Same thing happened on my NR, the tank decals just fell apart after they had been dipped.

Maybe try find some after market ones, but don't give up

Would seem a great shame to quit at this stage. Strip what decals you have done & go for a 'different' A/M sheet & enjoy summat different.

Thanks fellas but a decal sheet, and there only seems to be one lame one for this bike, would cost the same as the model.

I will ask my friendly Tamiya model purveyor (luckily I bought this at an actually shop) to try to get me replacement sheet. Can't imagine that will happen quickly.
