Rickpadwick1801
I have had an idea to build a couple of dioramas with my naval models, but I need to know if anyone knows who makes the models that I want to add to my naval model collection. The models I want to add are as follows : US Navy CVN-65 USS Enterprise (I have CVN-76 USS Ronald Reagan - Nimitz class in progress) Ticonderoga class Guided Missile Cruiser DDG-67 USS Cole (Arleigh Burke class destroyer - flight 1) FFG-57 USS Reuben James (Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate - long hull version) DD-21 Zumwalt class destroyer (I doubt this even exists yet) SSN-773 USS Cheyenne (Los Angeles class SSN 688I) SSN-21 USS Seawolf (Seawolf class SSN) SSN-774 USS Virginia (Virginia class SSN) Royal Navy S120 HMS Ambush (Astute class SSN) I would like to build some SSBNs (Ballistic Missile Submarines) and Russian surface ships. The SSBNs I am interested in are : Russian Navy Typhoon class (I know Revell used to make one) Royal Navy Vanguard class US Navy Ohio class The first idea for the diorama is to build an at sea scene with aircraft carriers, escorts , attack submarines and SSBNs in a sea scene. The second diorama idea is to build a naval base scene with the same ships etc as above, but with them pier side and tied to the dock and maybe have one of them in drydock. I would like to know how is best to build dioramas especially sea scapes. If anyone knows where the models I have listed can be found, could they post links to them ? (I would appreciate it). Thanks for your help.

Rickpadwick1801
Thanks very much for that Dave. I have just looked at the scale of my Ronald Reagan kit, it is 1:720 which makes it is 46.6 cm, which is almost 15 cm smaller than the Illustrious that I have built, so thats a bit of a snag....maybe I will have to do a battlegroup without the Ronald Reagan..... Shar2
You can get Trumpeters USS Nimitz in 1:350 and the White Ensign PE set which allows you to modify the kit into any of the class.
