1/72 MIG 25 BELENKO'S FOXBAT

Recommended Posts

Hi friends.

This is my Condor 1/72nd scale Mig 25 P Foxbat

It is a hard kit to build.

The model represents the machine piloted by Belenko, when he flew to Japan

Painted with Gunze and Alclad, with some pigments in exhausts

The landing gear is still not weathered with oils. In the afternoon I'll do it

I hope you like

Hello Pin.

.

Of course, any problem that your tell your opinions.

Moreover, you're right. I think the Mig of Viktor Belenko took off armed but droped missiles over the Sea of Japan before entering Japanese airspace.

Best regards from Spain

Looks bloody awesome to me- just how a Foxbat should look. I always remember that the Boots (yep, the Chemist) gift guide of 2002 or so vintage had a Mig 25 flight experience listed for the bargain price of £15,000. Now i've searched for spare change in the cracks of my sofa, but have only managed to come up with £13,674. Anyone care to lend me the rest? Promise to pay you back if you just give me your bank details...

Very nice looking Foxbat. B)

I've got the same one on the go as well. As you say, it's not a straight forward build, but I have to say I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far. The trickiest bit to me is that rear end, especially around the exhausts. I actually ordered the Click 2 detail burners and they are a big improvement over the kit pieces.

I think you've done a very respectable job there and as regard to the missles, well just because the a/c didn't have any hanging of it when it landed in Japan, doesn't mean it was never loaded with missles at any other point during it's flying career. ;)

:goodjob:

Very nice work!

Can you imagine flying this 'big bird'?! The cockpit's windscreen and canopy look so small.

Any info about it's maneuverability? Was it as difficult as the Phantom was?

Cheers

Sernak

She is a big impressive looking beastie, but she's not really a dogfighter. More of an interceptor. ;)

I believe the Mig 25 was developed by the USSR as a response to the proposed B-70 Valkirie hypersonic bomber.

By the time the Fox Bat was opperational the B-70 had been cancelled.

It could fly fast, in straight lines but as has already been said, it was no dog fighter.

Its turning circle was about the same as an oil tanker's!
