Ok still working on the rusted merc...

I got this kit sometime ago to try my hand at building a car.

Always known for doing things different from the norm, and after the rusted merc I thought what could I do wth this kit....

Well after a google search for rally cars I came across this image..

Not a Peugeot I know, but its the concept I like.

I have a few ideas for a senario.

Seen this kit on the web and it might come in useful.

Thats it for now folks I hope to have a bit of time to make a start on this project, inbetween learning lines for a play I'm appearing in soon and the continuation of the rusted Merc.

Cheers

Will be a good project. A long time ago I built a crashed car, I used tin-foil shaped using the kit part as a guide then painted it as normal. I then crashed the car and the part buckled as a real car would.

I like the idea of using tin-foil, also looking at the foil used on wine bottles.

Started cutting up the model around the areas that will be damaged and have tried a bit of damage using magic sculpt, I will post images soon.

Here are a few images of the work so far. This is going to be a long one so the updates will be slow in coming...

More work required on the damage. Starting to think about the base/setting for this project.

OK, have been able to do some work on this model...

Here is the work done so far.

crash04.jpg

Base started, I wanted to go for a twisting mountain road section.

crash05.jpg

Tarmac road made from ready mixed plaster, nice and easy to trowel smooth. Roughed out the mountain wall with polystyrene sheet.

crash06.jpg

Covered the sheets in clay for a more rocky look.

Base & mountain given its base colours.

crash08.jpg

Started on the car base colours, nearly finished the interior.

crash09.jpg

A close up of the impact area.

Decals to do plus lots more, then its on to the weathering, lots of weathering, snow mud rain etc.

Thats all folks - for now.

Cheers

Good to see something a bit different, I rather like your rocks/cliff face. Good effort.

What a great idea for something out of the ordinary - credit where it's due :clap2:

Yep, great idea, nice work on both the base and the car - will look very different!

Dermot

Thanks chaps,

very much appreciate the comments gives me the lift to carry on.
