simmerit
Hello mate - yes I do - I worked it out when I had a look at your gs mk. I posted my trucks on here first so the 4 tonner was a bit of a diversion on the other site. I was half cut last night and knocked the Dexion rail off and stuck it on back to front!! I need to swop the side windows and I may as well out a decent windscreen in while I'm on. I'm toying with extending that ariel to be honest. It will make for something quite different. We'll see. I've still got some 58 pattern bits kicking around somewhere and a pair of uncut puttees I was issues with and they still have the 8 mile long ribbon tape on them that you used to wrap around and around and around and around until you discovered Velcro!! simmerit
In case you are wondering why this is in a Couple of Land Rovers in the Right Forum So back to the heliThis is as far as I can go without a trip into London as I'm out of I beams which are rails to mount the panels below the motor. Filling of the struts is mostly done, but I'm going to try two other filling compounds - Porcelain power and Aluminium powder. You mix it into a paste apparently. I've found an ace architects model suppliers shop in London which does materials for architects (would you believe) - the big ones they do of buildings. There appears to be a whole world of modelling stuff for them that I had no idea about, and its very 'specialist'Anyway, next stage it to fit the I beam runners and do the plumbing.I've had a bit of a nightmare getting hold of reference photos as well. There aren't many detailed interior shots around of the interior loading bay roof, which has caused me no end of problems with the Cobra resin kits I managed to get hold of - the instructions were pants re fitting them. Same with the Edwood etch sets I got for it was well, although in fairness to Edwood, the only problem is the roof panels.I had previously had them fitted upside down!!!!you can see the size of the plumbing job........................ simmerit
plumbing under way!!I'm using alu rod and tube, but think I'm going to paint it before assembly as its going to be too hard otherwise
simmerit
Actually, just one point - there are different variations on layout of access panels, and the feeder cable in that instrument panel feeds straight up to the roof in the picture I am using to base my plumbing on, where as in the picture above, its wrapped round the box and fed underneath - just in case you thought in wasn't accurate!! simmerit
Quick update. I've banged these out of modelling clay This stuff is pretty fragile - it sets like porcelain so if you have a crack at it, make it about 3.5mm thick. My first attempts (pictured) are a bit thin. C&WR
Continues well, Simmer. I've had very little progress because of other commitments, although I managed some interior detailign on a railway model as it was just a couple of hours work rather than a full evening & just involved painting rather than actual modelling! simmerit
I've got a long way to go on this one. I'm currently doing battle with the interior having had several attempts at a the soundproof liner - none of which have worked. I was using modelling clay. I'm not about to have a crack at it with a the glass fibre paste from a car repair kit!
simmerit
trial assembly to understand the issues with putting it together. I've cracked the interior after doing battle with modelling clay which was the wrong material. Anyway, here is the roof now. Quite chuffed with this - its a paste that you use for scenery. It dries with zero shrinkage

simmerit
Well that's one side donethe roof has turned out nice. Some of the panels are a bit ropey as I had to lift the mesh out before they were dry, but they'll do. There will be seats on front of them and there is a rail at the top where the roof joins the side so you shouldn't see the unnatural line where the rood meets the sides
simmerit
finally finished the inside but some filling requiredHaving compared resin with etch,I've decided to got for the etch onesI'm stripping the plastic bindings off the rotors as they are crapnot bothered about the seams on this as you wont see themand the Live Resin M60s turned up last week!! GPMGs not certified on the Chinook so they cant be used because of Health and Safety:DQuite pleased with the effect on this stuffStill got a lot to do on this as well
