Pro Modeler/Revell’s 1:48th F-15E… For the moment it’s the best offering in 1:48th.  Completed this two years ago and have one on the bench, just a super kit.  I added the Black Box cockpit and to be honest it really is over kill, just add a couple of aftermarket bang seats.  Decals are from Afterburner, Gunze paints throughout except for the exhaust and natural metal areas…used ALCLAD II, great stuff.

Lovely looking Eagles guys, thanks for sharing them.

For those of you who have applied Alclad II to the BMF engine areas, may I ask what shade(s) you used and on where?

Cheers.

Hi GW, for my Eagle I used Alclad Aluminium for the main part, shaded with Steel around the panel lines and on some small panels, and a bit of heat staining around the APU vent with Jet Exhaust. The nozzles themselves were Steel and the nozzle housings were shaded with various depths of Tamiya Clear Blue to give them a different look.

Hope that helps,

Dean

Academy 1:48th F-15E... This kit was built for a friend who love the F-15. Not a bad kit, I personally like the Academy offering over Hasegawa kit especially the newer/updated kits with the new spru's and decals. All of the newer Academy F-15's have the original sprus with the addition of newer sprus for different versions but all come with nice Cartagraf Decals and updated weapons suites. But the Revell kit tops em all!!!

Hawsegawa 1:48th F-15E... this was built back in 1999 with True Details resin seat, Photo Etch HUD frame with decals, I wish they were still offered because they came with display decals that really look the part. The model is displayed at the 8th AF Museum at Barksdale AFB Louisiana. The Hasegawa kit was based on the prototype F-15E which was an enhanced "D" it's been around for years with no spru updateds to moderenize it, and was the premier 1:48 F-15E kit untill Monogram (Pro Modeler) came on scene, still a nice kit!!!

Lovely Eagles folks. You can't beat the Mountain Home Bold Tigers...best fin flash and hub caps in the business. Thanks for the help with applying Alclad LeVander.

Here are a couple of older builds painted with a hairy stick sometime back in the early nineties I think. Firstly, the 1/48th Tamiya kit as an F-15A in Compass Ghost scheme.

Next, the same kit but modified to depict Streak Eagle. (I did n't correct the speedbrake back to the oldest style as I should have done.)
