aerodes
Hi guys, Pics show my rafale build a couple of pics with it temporarily on its U/c for first time. Another couple of first for me - 1) First time posting pics - hope I haven't screwed up 2) First model for some time and first with weathering. Next step should be to give it a gloss coat ready for the decals but I'm a bit wary. Don't want it to look as though it's come out of a car showroom after a full wax and polish! Your help and comments much appreciated. regards aerodes
c.smith10
Normally you would weather after the decals are applied that way you a avoid having a mucky aircraft with pristine markings! My standard procedure is to paint, gloss, decal, gloss, weather, Matt top coat. The gloss coat after decals will help seal them and the Matt top coat gives the whole model a more realistic finish. Also try to avoid to much black when weathering, greys and browns can be more subtle and don't forget less is more. Hope this helps Cheers Edited January 8, 2013 by c.smith10
aerodes
Great - thanks for advice. Will take it on board. I used a dark grey pastel for the weathering and can easily remove a fair amount before it is glossed. Thanks again.
