chris1984_99_99
Hi guys, just joined the site recently and wanted to post some pics of a few previous models ive made. They were made a good few years ago, nearly 10 years in some cases! They include the HMS Hood, HMS ArkRoyal, both of which were made for people who either served on or had connections with the ships. Then there are a few of my radio controlled models. The Flower class corvette HMS Arabis, Cousteau's exploration ship the Calypso, and of course a German U-boat, U-25. Hope you like! Cheers Chris
Shar2
Love the R/C stuff, particularly the sub. The photos of the Ark and Hood could do with redoing as they are a bit blurry.
chris1984_99_99
Yeah apologies for the quality of some of the photos, they were taken years ago with a pretty basic digital camera, no chance of getting new shots as they are all long gone to new owners! charley420
That water looks very realistic, how did you do that?
chris1984_99_99
If i remember correctly, I bought some plaster from B&Q or similar and basically smothered it on the wooden board and left it to set for a while, then while it was still quite wet, used a fairly flat wooden stick to rough it up and produce the waves. After it dried I then painted it with gloss blue, left that to dry then dry brushed on the white tops of the waves with white. Quite simple and it worked a treat. I also had a kit done in the same style, mounted on a board with the sea effect of HMS Warspite, but not long after making it, the cat decided to destroy it by using it as a bed one night!!!
