Bigmick
I started off doing one as a detail project, rescribing panels, detailing the seats etc but time kinda ran out as I intended them to be an xmas pressie, so had to finish one and start another. http://s1323.photobu...88/Bigusmickus/ http://i1323.photobu...ersfinished.jpg http://i1323.photobu...ABucresize3.jpg http://i1323.photobu...yBucresize3.jpg http://i1323.photobu...ucrescribed.jpg Got another 2 kits in the box and packets of 1:72 PE to make a Gulf War S.2 and a Ark Royal RN with wings folded and air brake open, also have the Revell Tornado GR1 to make a Tornado/Buc hunting pair. Bigmick
Thanks guys, I was kinda rushed for a base idea as all I had was an idea on Dec 23rd and couldn't do what I wanted lol, I found a wooden base in amongst my modelling crates and a length of carbon fibre rod and brass tube, the carbon takes CA adhesive beautifully, just remember to be masked up when cutting it, preferably outdoors, so sticking the planes was easy, drilling holes in them wasn't though as I really didn't want to, then cut the brass tube to length, slide it over the carbon and stick it in the base, an easy way to prevent the plane swinging round but still be removable is put a bit of soft wax in the base of the tube before sliding the rod in, the wax from a brand of small round red cheese works really well as it softens easily and resets fairly hard in a hour or so, the original idea was to have rods coming out of a piccy of Ark Royal RO9 so the planes looked like they were flying over it, kinda oldschool lol.
