Wez
Does anybody have any details of the centreline camera installation the French used on some of their F-84G Thunderjets? I know they used some modified Fletcher tanks but the particular aircraft I want to model (51-10670 33-DO of GR 2/33 Savoie as in Model Art sheet 72/040), didn't use those but did have a centreline camera fairing. I know Model-Art did a recce accessory pack but I think I could probably scratch it if I had the details. I'm not talking about RF-84F Thunderflash's here, definitely the straight wing Thunderjet. I also need to know whether this particular aircraft had the perforated or slotted airbrake and whether it had the auxiliary air intake on the lower fuselage or not. Wez
Ha! Found part of the answer here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234928854 Can anybody answer the question on the airbrake and intakes? Wez
Wez
Found the rest of the answer, the perforated airbrake was introduced from airframe number 51-1079, seeing as the one I want to do is 51-10670 and comes in well after that I think I'm safe to go with the perforated airbrake, likewise any reference to a lack of blow-in doors on the lower fuselage seems to be limited to earlier jets. 51-1079 is an F84G-10-RE, as my jet is later still I think it will definitely have this feature too. Thanks to anybody who looked, just goes to show if you look a bit harder yourself and do a bit of logical deduction you can often find the answer yourself.
