Sid de Koning Posted January 31, 2013 Author Share Posted January 31, 2013 The fuselage sides have a slight line up problem, probably why Eduard made these hatches to cover them..Drilled some holes and covered them with mesh..slimelights on the side are present but labelled 150 iso 17..Eduard made two similar slimelights, but that's wrong. Crossdelta is shaped differently, so..out with the side cutters..still stuff missing..slimelights, antenna base, missing exhaust (not one boxing has them strangely enough), antenna, covert lights and another base for a nav light.. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The fan installed and some masking started with some kabuki tape.. fixed the Italeri exhausts.. not a perfect fit for Sierra Hotel Models intakes.. to have a little more flesh to sand things smooth later.. just a little filler required.. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The Pave Penny, Penny, Penny according HB, Revell and Italeri. HB is too short and skinny.. after a lot of sanding.. Outboard pylons according HB (top) and with some more detail, including the base for the refuelling light.. color of a home made mix of Gunze clear.. canopy sides tinted (HB is left, right is a test piece).. Engraved missing lines on the resin intakes.. something of a hinge? reinforcement plates or part of the hinges? primed and before they go on.. making sure everything will be glued at the right angles.. vertical stabs and my homemade jig so I can work easily on the underside.. Remember both HB and Eduard didn't have the right idea about this, so I made some improvements.. nice see through, I think this is much better.. from below, the fence wraps around the leading edge.. with flap track rails.. after some Mr.Surfacer 1200.. The phrases "attention to detail", "incredible workmanship" and "museum quality" can all be overused in this hobby - but in reference to this project, I believe those phrases and so many more similar, cannot be used enough. The windshield is a bit too narrow for the hull, but with just a little pressure this will fit and it was glued together with Tamiya's Extra Thin Cement for a good joint. Everything is primed and in theory ready for a color coat of Mr.Color 307 and 308. Italeri nose as testpiece for the refuel boom dents.. the 4th try.. windshield sides tinted on bare plastic worked for me, albeit slightly too yellow..
