Hi Guys

I m finihing off tammys 232 8 wheel armoured car what im curios at is, the traingluar like boxes on the front fenders? Anyone know what they are or what colour??Id like to do them in a different colur to provide a bit of contrast

any ideas?????? :fraidnot:

I think they are wheel chocks. I would guess made of wood, so they might have been overpainted (or not) and depending on the weathering you intend to do they might have lost most of the paint and show their 'wood' color & texture.

I have always believed them to be additional storage for the MG34 ammunition drums. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw/read that though, so I could be wrong :shrug:

This question has appeared at the missing-lynx forum. Apparently they are fuel drums of pre-war origin, designed for civilian use, and you can find a few colour pics here:

In period b/w photos they generally do appear to be in the same colour as the vehicle, but it is your model so skies the limit if your intention is to have them stand out.

brillant ill paint them light blue just being strapped on the vehicle no time to tone them down thanks guy s
