DaveJL Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Good one Dave!!! I know mate, minus man points for that one
DaveJL Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Scored an A-4E/F off ebay for less than £25 so when that turns up and my EA-6B is out of the way, i'll crack on with this! Dave
DaveJL Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) Time to update this one, albeit without any building! This arrived a few weeks ago: So i've started to clean up the F-14 now as I want to get that built before I start the A-4. I'll hopefully get an update later in the week and the first job is to paint the cockpit, assemble the crew and attach the intakes to the fuselage. More soon. Dave Edited January 12, 2014 by DaveJL
Parabat Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Nice to see this back on track, a good little PR build for the Tomcat II GB!

DaveJL Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Cockpit ready for the ejection seats and crew: Intaked fitted. It's important to remember that when modelling the Hasegawa kit without FOD covers, that the intake ramps need altered- sand down the notches on the underside of parts F10 &11 as these need to sit flat (hasegawa has them molded to represent the aircraft flying supersonic i.e, fully down in order to slow airflow) and then chop off a bit of the actuator (part H6) which holds parts F12&13 so that there is only a small gap between F10/11 and F12/13. Also picked up this: Great book! More to come. Dave
Shalako Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Time to update this one, albeit without any building! This arrived a few weeks ago: More soon. Dave Ha! Got the same kit from Ebay (Hong Kong). The guy was selling them very cheap!!! Got the book also. Really great book, though I do not have the magazine a lad is mentioning above Keep up the good work Dave!!
DaveJL Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks guys. Managed to get a small bit done today while I was working on my EA-6B. Started painting the pilots and while they were drying I closed up the main landing gear: As you can see, a lot of filler is needed to close over the gaps. The fit really is poor. Hasegawa obviously didn't want this kit to be modelled wheels up! Also assembled the wings: Not much, but I'm slowly getting there! Next up is to finish the pilots, attach them to the seats and get the cockpit and front fuselage closed up.] Dave
Parabat Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Good job, those gear bays are a pain aren't they?!
DaveJL Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 Good job, those gear bays are a pain aren't they?! Damn right they are! Coming along slowly now
DaveJL Posted November 27, 2014 Author Posted November 27, 2014 Forgot about this….for a second time! After the A-4N is cleared off the bench, i'll come back to this. 1
