I haven't updated in awhile, still adding rivets I have added over 10,000 rivets so far. I still need to add rivets to the bottom and then it should be done with the riveting.

Lovel, lovely, lovely build and painting. Bought one of these on the cheap recently at Model Zone.

Seeing your build makes me think I should dig it out of the cupboard and get cracking on it (yes, I'm fully aware that the expression "get cracking" now has an rather unfortunate conatation to it!)

Many thanks for letting us see it.

I remember as a lad being apprenticed to Westlands and going up to the erecting shop to speak to my father who was a chargehand on the Lynx and sitting eating my lunch in the cockpit of these. A bit later on I was a progress chaser for the Lynx on the erecting shop and flight shed and I can remember that when production was at its hight we were producing 6 lynx a month and a couple of seakings. Love the aircraft and am doing the HAS3 but would like to get the blades to do a very early one in oxford blue with white writing. As a progress chaser with a licence to roam I was always at the paint shop when the masking came off a new customers aircraft for the first time. Happy days.

Feel your pain re the riveting job. I think I must have used 2 to 3 sheets of archers on my AH7 conversion..... Well worth the effort in the end. The Lynx effect certainly emphasises rivets in the real thing and yep, an omission on the kit but I guess the compromise of a very cheap price v detail is acceptable. This is turning out to be a great build and will hopefully prompt me in to opening the model box again after a 3-4 month hiatus.

PS please please please ensure you tint the roof windows dark dark blue and not green (as I've seen on so many builds incorrectly) and please please make sure your main rotor blades are absolutely rigid with no droop!

Having used just a few Archers rivets on my Gazelle (qv Helicopter 2 GB thread), I know how much work has gone in to make this as neat as it is; top work. There shouldn't, I'm afraid, be any on the fairing over the MRGB auxiliaries (the shaped bit that leads to the front of the main rotor head, which has the holes for the hydraulics sight glasses in it - transfers in this kit); that bit is made of GRP, and not riveted around the edge. Look at the walkround section of this site.

But the cab is looking lovely, for all that nit-picking!
