Plastic Bonsai
Ooo! Watching this. I've started one as the HMA8 but it's taking a lot of time to do the interior - particularly the sonar operator console and finding all the bits on the sprues. Going to shamelessly pick up any detailing tips...

Theres certainly alot of interior. Ive only just closed the fuselage halves and i have had mine since Telford! Great job so far. Its a beautiful kit isnt it , especially at the price. I have been working on this since the middle of November, I'll post up the rest of the interior pics later this evening Yeah that sonar framework is a pain. Theres certainly alot of interior. It is, the only thing that I have against the kit is the lack of the rivet detail

llking
now this is where the fun begins . This is the build as of today, I started by priming the fuselage and then adding the rivets, I'm using the Archer surface detail set #30. Mike W
I thought there were meant to be transfers for a FAA one? Good progress so far. Mike

Plastic Bonsai
I thought there were meant to be transfers for a FAA one? Revell are up-issuing as a HAS 3 with FAA markings early next year. It has parts for a HMA8 in this kit. Maybe after that some after market decals for the HMA8 might turn up.
HammerUK9
Looking really beautiful! I especially like how you've got the slightly jumbled look of the observer's equipment. Keep it up! Tim
marky sparky
Looking good sir. I've not long started mine and that sonar cable drum and small wheel is a real pain to orientate but yours looks right!

Plastic Bonsai
I've not long started mine and that sonar cable drum and small wheel is a real pain to orientate but yours looks right! ... try fitting it after half the cabin is installed in the fuselage. Can be done with a lot of invective and a few years off your life. Definitely not recommended...
llking
quick update, the left side now has rivets to the tail boom. Will let them dry and start the other side in the morning.
llking
this is where it at now after 2 sheets of the Archer Rivets, still have half on top, the bottom, the boom and the windscreen, hopefully one more sheet will do it. so I'm going to put it the side until the new rivets get here. Jabo31
Hello! Very nice work work so far and a good idea with the archer rivets on transfer fim. What shade of paint do you used for the interior? I`m not sure what paint can I used and the revell painting guide is more for the garbage than to used. On some pictures the interior look like the outside paint and that was RAL 7012, but I´m not sure. A few weeks ago I write to Westland and to the German Marineflieger about the colour, the only answer was nothing. For my build I will take a look of your work and I hope it will be nearly half so good like your`s. Very impressive. Regards, Udo.
Shalako
41,5 x 40,1cm !!!! WOW now that's a big bird!!! I am stunned by the detail Revell is providing us with this kit. Keep up the good work mate. I will certainly use it as reference when I finally decide to build mine (Airfix 1/72) Cheers Sernak

christof
This is looking good. Especially like the rivets. Are they from Archers HO scale railroad range? Have to invest in these for my Lynx. Christof
