Bf 109 F-4 Zvezda 1/48

Recommended Posts

Hi. Here's what I hope to have completed by the end of this G.B. The new Bf 109 F4 of Zvezda.

Bf109F4006.jpg

Bf109F4007.jpg

The sprues are basically the same of F-2.

F-4

F-2

Bf109F4009.jpg

The sprue D is identical but the wings (bottom) are different.

The F-4 brings another sprue (F) which have several options arms and tail of the model without the four reinforcements used in F-2.

It also brings the air filter used in tropical models.

My idea is to build the model «White 5» Gerhard Barkhorn.

Thank you for your comments.

I started the firebreak (I think is what it's called). Already painted with RLM 02 XF-22 from Tamiya.

Then, the interiors. Everything has already glued, missing pilot's seat and rudder pedals that will be painted without being glued. I added some cables and wires.

Thanks for your comments and follow :speak_cool: .

I painted the landing gear wells and the inside of the wings I'm thinking leave it open. The idea, with the help of a friend, is to make a small diorama.

I use an EP that was already here and with some parts missing. Do not really like the EP because usually the color is not identical to the colors we use. I usually just use the seat belts.

I painted the XF-63 with PE. Can see color difference comparing with the pieces 29 and 30 (right IP).

That technique is so effective, I'll have to have a go at that next time I'm building in 1/48.

What are the cut out panels in the wings for? Is it for the wing mounted guns on Adolf Galland's "special" F4?

Brings options for various types of weapons or additional fuel tank.

Bf109F4032.jpg

To my knowledge none of the options is for the F-2 (F-6) of Galland.

I wonder if they do his special in a different box, it seems a lot of effort to go to for mounting the underwing gondolas?

Sorry but my English is not good.

Sprues F-4 sprues are identical to F-2. Bring a sprue changed, with different wings for the F-4 (D sprue).

Brings a new sprue (sprue F) with the tail without reinforcements, a new propeller, a filter for tropical version and parts for the wings, the guns, bombs and additional deposit.

I hope this time have given the correct answer.

The wells of the landing gear and engine support finished.

Nothing wrong with your English and your answer is very informative, thank you. I just wondered that was all. Maybe they will release a Galland special in the future as that is a strange engineering solution to fit the underwing cannons when they could fit right onto the underside of the wing.

That is very nice work you have done on the panels and engine. The kit also looks very detailed, I have not seen the kit in the shops over here.

The Zvezda F2 has the open underwing panels, too. I think they're just showing off how much detail they can squeeze in...

The detail is very nice but they must have a reason for engineering it that way. I haven't seen one of these kits in the shops but I will grab one if I do.

Hi ajcmac

Excellent build so far!

Can you explain how you achieved the chipping/weathering on the engine bearers and cowl?

looks really effective and realistic.......

Many thanks in advance.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was done with a bit of sponge?

Tim, do you mind if I pinch your STGB banner? It looks awesome!

thanks

Hi Chris

Would like to know more about the sponge technique if that's how it was done.

You are welcome to use my banner as is anyone else, glad you like it! :D

Thanks

Tim.
