I do not know if this has been mentioned here before.

AK Interactive have released a DVD Weathering German Ships. Some very interesting weathering techniques are shown.

I should have a few more pictures soon from Orangehobby.

I think it will be a good year for Maritime modellers, there are lots of interesting kits on the horizon from a range of manufacurers !

Coming soon from MT Miniatures:

Now, a Tiger or Blake in 1:350 would be better :D

The gap between The front to turrets seem too big

This is my 1/700 Matchbox kit the turrets are much closer,oh this is a "what if" had Tiger done to the Falklands in 1982

@Chewitt

I think you are right about the turrets. I have looked at Revells/Matchbox HMS Tiger and some more photos and they all show a smaller gap.

The photo is pre-production, but I would imagine the hull shape would be set in stone at this point of production ! Could the hull be modified prior to casting or would this require starting again from scratch ?

If the list in that thread is anything to go by, my wallet is going to be having a fit over the next year or so.

OMG! Will need a new house for this one. Shame it's not the Enterprise, but I guess the Hornet will be ok.

Details look a bit questionable... Apparently, She's berthed in Alameda nowadays: Hell of a recovery!!!

Seriously, from what i read elsewhere, it's the 1/350 Trumpy kit scaled up with all the accuracy issues, but larger...

Good price, tho!

From what i've been told it was actually designed by another company and released by Trumpeter, but we'll see what the "experts" say.

Wrong Hornet, mates. The kit will be CV-8, of Doolittle Raid fame and lost at the Battle of Santa Cruz. The ship berthed at Alameda is CV-12, which took over the name.

Would still prefer Enterprise or even Yorktown. The Hornet seems to get all the attention, mainly because of that one mission.
