New Ship Related Releases

Recommended Posts

For those saying they will wait for Flyhawk to release X, Y or Z kit as it is on their release list, I came across their 2017 release list from December 2016 over the weekend, it had nine kits on the list and they have since announced at least as many more plus a 1/350 kit.  Any guesses as to how many have actually been released in those 18 months?

One.

Images of the test sprues for the Aoshima Dorsetshire: LINK. The hull's split construction in contrast with their Exeter kit which is a one piece moulding. The Flyhawk Dorsetshire will be better detailed but Aoshima will have their kit in the market way ahead of them.

Images of the Aoshima HMS Dorsetshire are now up on HobbySearch: LINK. There's also going to be another special edition of the Exeter kit, this time bundling in a pair of Flower class corvettes: LINK.

Mike.:)

Thats the HobbySearch page now updated with the Dorsetshire box art. Just as subtle as the initial release Exeter! LINK.

Mike.

Good thing that the USS Enterprise had beamed up all the crew prior to its sinking.

Just reading the product information about the kit and am appalled by the poor English in the description. Bout time Trumpeter employed someone who can write better than what they are currently are producing now.

" Heavy cruiser Exeter is the British Royal Navy during World War II York class heavy cruiser ship in the 2nd, is the "Exeter" named after the first four warships. The ship had been hit hard in the 1939 Battle of the River Plate and the German Navy Admiral Graf Spee battleship battle, so accept the modification. After the conversion is completed the ship was sent to the east of India, in 1942, the Battle of Surabaya was sunk by the Japanese navy. "

Could you do better if writing it in Chinese?  :hmmm:  I would think that the English version has been machine-translated, from the original Chinese description that was provided for their home market.

And that version is also printed on the box as well.

@Mike McCabe, any news of the 1/700 S or T (can't remember) Class British Submarine release...Telford??

Stuart

1/700 version should be in a week or two, it is HMS Tabard, T class group III, two kits in the pack, one full hull, one waterline.

Impressive as they are, at 1/700 those matlows would be just over 2.5mm!

I don't think their would be a detectable difference.

Probably right - maybe I'm just picky!

You're prerogative Chewy.

To give a sense of scale, something has to be included and figures are ideal, they're there for 'effect' more than accuracy.

Stop being so picky
