OzH Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Ian at Heritage has just sent me his latest release, the Wessex HC2…. And it looks goooood! A true multimedia kit, predominantly resin, grey and clear, white metal and 3 etch sets The clear resin and etch for intake grills, steps, tail grills and Northern Ireland fit armour plate White metal for seat supports, undercarriage and night sun The main parts… Some great detail inside and out… All the smaller parts, seats, antenna’s rotor blades.. Option for folding the tail…. And decals for the later 72 Sqn green/dark green NI scheme.. I know Ian has these available for this weekends Nationals, not sure how much, but take some extra cash as you’ll be needing one of these… I can’t make it to the Nats, so will be building this, keep watching for updates….
Ian @ KitsforCash Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 (edited) hi oz looks good matey, price is £60, expensive i know but compared to the mainstream kits i think it's a bargain....no need to buy extras with this one to correct the faults Edited November 9, 2012 by iant
troschi Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 (edited) Looks good to me...I wonder if they also will release a HAR.2 or if we just have to modify the interior from scratch and take the xtradecal sheet... Edited November 12, 2012 by troschi
Mike Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Saw this at the weekend when Ian and I traded abuse at his stand. Looks rather nice
smeds Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Try this for the HC.2 http://www.a2zeemodels.co.uk/westland-wessex-hc2-conversion-6109-p.asp
Ian @ KitsforCash Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 Try this for the HC.2 http://www.a2zeemode...sion-6109-p.asp why alter when you can build a proper one straight from the box?
smeds Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 why alter when you can build a proper one straight from the box? All I was doing was showing an alternative to your kit mentioned above and its only £35 for the Italeri kit and correction set as opposed to £60 for a full kit. People can make thier own choice.
OzH Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 Now that the Christmas tree and lights are up, the new carpet has been laid and I've finished all the other jobs Mrs OzHMk.2 has been thinking up for me, I have had a little time to get on with this... Even though it has taken me nearly a month to post these pictures, it only took a short while to clean up and assemble the cabin and cockpit parts Once they were done (and a 4 week break) they are painted, all this comes in the box, the only extra I have added is Mike Grant decals for the Instrument panel. Next - start work on getting her together
perdu Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 oh dear... no only kidding this does really look good, jealous moi? definitely The cockpit and interior work is sublime have fun, whilst I scrimp and save my pension to buy one (or two) for me b
Lynx7 Posted December 18, 2012 Posted December 18, 2012 Looking forward to this one, Oz. you'll do it proud mate.
OzH Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 Unfortunately work and family commitments have prevented me from doing to much modelling over the last few months, things are quietening down so hopefully get focused back onto this baby…! Glazing fitted Rear cabin added to the cabin floor Seat legs fitted to the seats Cabin sides and seats fitted Cabin forward bulkhead and cockpit fitted Engine housing fitted Soon to come – nose job…

perdu Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 nice work OzH but Is the fin twisted on there or is it just a camera angle thing such as plagues me when trying to photograph WIPs? I do love the detail with this Wessex, sets new standards for me to aim at b
Ian @ KitsforCash Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 nice one mate....looking very nice indeed
tonyot Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Looking really good Oz, I`m looking forward to seeing this one finished, are you doing it as a two toned green N. Ireland based 72 Sqn machine? Cheers Tony O
OzH Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 A bit more work on some of the finer detail.. The tail is all but done, the etch is certainly a great addition here Some details around the cockpit, front legs on with some really nice etch access steps.. Started on the nose mesh, a bit of a mess at the moment, went a bit overboard with the super glue!!
pacificmustang Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 looking nice OZ. A bit of super glue debonder on a cotton bud will clean up that nose mesh nicely (ask me how I know!!!) Bruce
OzH Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 (edited) She's ready for painting... Most of the details added Some nice details around the fuel dump pipe and step The bits I haven't added yet I do like the NI Infrared light and mount, Ian sells this on its own as well… Edited February 17, 2013 by OzH
Ian @ KitsforCash Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 looking good oz yep, we sell the seat set, ni fit set, tail wheels in white metal, winch set and tail boom set all separately cheers ian
