Sebastien
Sorry, won't do that one anymore (and yes, I know, theJ-8 evolved from the MiG 21, but I couldn't resist). So here's my J-8IIB Finback from Trumpeter in 1/48. It's straight from the box, I tried Tamiya TS26 rattle can, but I didn't quite like it and I switched to the white fine primer from Tamiya. Look at the front of the engines, and at the intakes on the pictures above... With a bottle of Gunze, just to give an idea of its size: With wings and fin: I started painting, just giving the rattle can a try: The HUD: You need to insist with TS26: And something utterly useless, painting the gear and speedbrake bays before spraying white everywhere: A friend of mine came to my place today and brought a model... Guess what? Trumpeter's Flagon, that's right. Look:

Jon Kunac-Tabinor
Hi Sebastien - thats looking white & mean!! Funnily TS-26 gloss white is one of the worst covering of Tamiyas otherwise excellent spray cans. If you go with your plan of using the fine white primer first, then use the TS-26 over the top - you should find you get a very good glossy & dense white finish. Also - try leaving the spray can in a jug of hot water ( as in hot enough you can just put your fingers in) for about 5 mins. Make sure the can is well shaken before hand, and then give it a good shake after its bath too. All spray cans spray far better with the contents warmed through. Hope thats of use - and more pics please as the Finback grows. Cheers Jonners

Lawnguylander
What goes into the large opening between the nose gear well and the speed brake wells?
Sebastien
What goes into the large opening between the nose gear well and the speed brake wells? The cannon pack goes there. Might be a good idea to install it, though...
