John B (Sc) Posted October 27, 2012 Share Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) Interesting. I wonder if it was ground resonance, starting when the pilot made an initial gentle increase in collective. That would lighten the load on the aircraft oleos, maybe encouraging some undamped oscillation. Quite a fast bounce which is what makes me wonder about it being oleo related rather than whole airframe / blade action. Hard to tell - unfortunate that the cameraman moves in just at the critical point. Settled OK once airborne indeed. Royster Posted October 28, 2012 Share Posted October 28, 2012 Yeah, I'd go with ground resonance, looking at the belly and ground. Must've been scary, well spotted by the pilot though.
