I dont usually build ships/boats - in fact the is the second, the first was an Airfix Golden Hind in 1950mumble.

My wife bought this for me, and she chose the cutaway kit as she thought it would be more of a challenge! I dont seem to have much joy with Revell and this kit certainly had its flaws, the most immediately obvious being the lack of pressure hull.

I cut out all the vents in the casing, then scratched a pressure hull, added detail to the diesel engine room, scratchbuilt most of the electric motor room, added other details and then started to loose interest. My final act was to make the straight edged cut away 'wavy' which is how I was taught to do cutaways.

By then I just wanted it finished so I did not get the torpedos fitted, I just slopped on some paint, no weathering or decals, and stuck it in the cabinet and went back to building tanks!

Very nicely done. I like your wavey cutaway lines and the detail you have built into her. Well done.

I don't build ships either, but submarine builds like yours have given me some inspiration to consider trying one out.

Thanks Wayne, I quite enjoyed doing something different, but if I ever tackle another it wont be a cutaway as that really took some of the fun out of it.

Not a submarine fan ,but excellent job

Looks like a pretty good job to me...very nice indeed.

Thanks chaps.
