Work In Progress
It's come out really well, and you were evidently right to do something about the panel lines as they are still pretty prominent even after the sprue-filling treatment. CockneyCol
That's a beauty and no mistake.....really impressed with her, especially bearing in mind the panel line issues with the kit. A real credit to you - be proud! Cheers Col'

AdrianMF
What a great job! I like how you have tamed the panel lines - it looks very realistic. Regards, Adrian
LDSModeller
Only the astrodome to make and the wire from the tail to the mast. Hi Neil That's a Stunner!!!, you have done a excellent job - well done you!!! Regarding the Astro Dome (I hope you haven't done it by the time you read this) just an FYI (and anyone else), the Astro Dome was not always in use, and a flat port time transparency could be used as in these photos The Sunderland M & E manual (esp Mk III one) gives a detailed account as to how you go about changing the Astrodome or port transparency over. The Upper Hatch without Astrodome Take note of the yellow handle (the plastic is help stop leaks.......) Where does an Astrodome hide when not in use??? (Note these photos are first time posted) Why behind the Flight Engineers console (Just as it says in the M & E Manual) So if you decide to not use the Astrodome, and anyone who challenges you, then here are photos to prove it. Regarding the Aerial, for The Mk I Sunderland, the Aerial Wire will go from the Vertical Stab. to the mast, then down to the small post/mast above the radio operators position (Portside) What I have as yet to determine is, that the Mk I Sunderland M & E manual has an Aerial diagram that shows aerials from the vert Stab to the outer wing tips also, but I have yet to see any definitive photographic eveidence that it was actually used (will keep looking) Hope that helps you some? And Yes looking forward to the grand finale Regards Alan

modelmaker
I've only just come across these and I'm unable to get a permission as yet to use this guy's pictures on Flickr, but if you follow this link you will find some VERY interesting and imaginative Sunderlands and other aircraft. not QUITE what we make, (although the 'panel lines' on his models aren't much worse than the italeri kit), they are nonetheless splendid enjoy! Shalako
Amazing job Woody. Personally, I'm still trying to re-arrange my models' on their shelfs in order to see where I could possibly place such a large model, even though it is just in 1/72!! rossm
Mine's planned to be a 10 Sqn RAAF Mk II I also plan a 10 RAAF aircraft ('cos of the Plymouth link) so I was excited to see a book I didn't know about - I think you should be more careful with it though as it's nearly two thousand quid on Amazon so I won't be getting one anytime soon. Just hope mine turns out looking half as good as yours, Ross
Ed Russell
You can see details of mine here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234930547 - PM me if you want more 10 Sqn information I appreciate the value of the book and I am treating it very carefully - all the more so because it isn't mine! You can pick one up for 5-600 USD here http://www.allbookstores.com/book/compare/095923960X or a bargain at 400 AUD here http://www.muirbooks.com/MuirBooks/search.cfm?UR=87211&search_stage=details&records_to_display=
Ptmvarsityfan
Very disappointing, why do these kit makers think that trench-like panel lines are the way forward? matchbox were derided for deep panel lines ib the 80's but their Starnraer, Heyford etc were a lot more subtle than this Italeri kit and only 30 years earlier. Very disappointed and wont be buying it, do these people think that aircraft have trenches in them? Cheers, Paul

Michaelvk
Oooh now that is gorgeous! Despite that the panel lines have tiny X-wings on their way to the exhaust port.. Very nice job indeed!
