Harry@BFM Posted October 14, 2012 Share Posted October 14, 2012 1/48 Me 509 I have been thinking about the 509 project for some time now, when I came across the “what-if” group build, so I thought I would join up. My thoughts are to add 4 Ruhrstahl/Kramer X-4 guided air-to-air missiles. Take-off assist rockets. Also, do something about the awful nose wheel arrangement. Deploy the leading edge wing slats. An opening in the rear fuselage that no one will be able to see the work put in. And a string of other changes that will be needed to be worked out as the project goes along. The kit is a little ruff IMHO imperfections on the plastic surfaces and sink marks in very visible places. But overall a good starting point and I would have never have thought of a mainstream plastic kit of a 509 so you really can not complain. A few photos will follow in the days ahead.
