German flak tracks..

Hi guys,

I've got Tristars Geppard under way & the 20 mil flak comes with a very nice etch shell basket for the spent cases,however I read somewhere that most AFV crews removed these on the front line as they were more or a nuisance preferring to put up with the spent cases on the floor.

anyone else come across this?

Haven't read this, but few photos in my books show the cage in place.

i read it was down to the indy crew , how they felt about the cage some thinking it got in the way others perfering it to the clean up after action.
