viscount806x
Well, I finally got my Folland Midge sprayed up in 'Nordic Blue', settling for Polly Scale RLM 78 'HimmelBlau' which looked about right, not having exactly nailed what colour it should be. Now, I have had a few of these Polly Scale acrylics for a good few years having bought them when Hannants had a clear out over 10 years ago but never ever used them until now. They are lovely to use, sprayed nicely, thinned with a bit of distilled water and a drop of washer fluid. Well pleased with the result. A day later I set to with the 'Clear' prior to decalling and to my surprise and consternation, it beaded up and refused to do its usual thing, almost like I was trying to use water! Anyway I cleaned up and checked. Had I contaminated my Clear? No, a fresh supply did the same. What about the paint? No, a trial with another colour neat from t'pot did exactly the same. Hmm! Lets give it a try on a tester piece with some Galaria artists varnish.- no, did the same. Next I tried my favourite top coat, Rowney Cryla artists which is turps based - that was just fine. I've never met anything like this with acrylics before, has anyone else on here? I hasten to add that the Polly Scale was very well mixed beforehand.
