Foghorn Leghorn Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 My name is Neil and I have an addiction ... to Bedford QLs. I lie awake each night dreaming of the 1/35 IBG QLs that are to be released. Anyway ... I've been informed that an unusual QLT pic is in the current edition of military machines international. Apparently it's a desert QLT with a ridged top half body but as the mag's not available locally I can't view it. Does anyone out there have the mag and can scan the image? Or maybe you know of a similar image on the web that I've not tracked down. TIA Neil
rs2man Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 If all else fails , you could buy a digital copy of the mag from Pocketmags http://www.pocketmags.com/viewmagazine.aspx?titleid=657&title=Military+Machines+International
Foghorn Leghorn Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Tracked the mag down today. Strange body, not seen anything like it before. Looks possibly like a dental lab or medical conversion. QLT pressed steel lower body with a rigid roof and rigid upper sides and a couple of windows. Would love to know what the rear looks like but there's only a 3/4 left side pic in the mag.
Tex Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Hi Neil could I impose on you. As you say your an avid QLholic I wondered if you know of a pic or diagram of a 1941 QL Runway Control Van. In 1968-70 I used to man and drive this thing at Royal Naval Air Station Brawdy in Pembrokeshire (all modern stuff in the Fleet Air Arm) and would like to model it. Dave E
