Lynx7
Another MTB from me since building the old Airfix Vosper a couple of months ago. Decided to go for the beautiful 1/72 Tamiya Vosper Perkasa MTB. As expected (despite its age) a straight forward build with hardly any issues whatsoever. Only minor irk was the kit decals. Designed to be waterproof and are as easy to apply as makeup on a Rottweiler! Decided to leave most of them off as they were pants. Used Tamiya sprays for hull (hull red and TS66 grey) and superstructure and Humbrol grass green spray for the deck. Used a combination of Flory and Mig pigments to weather. Only additions outside the kit were White Ensign 1/72 figures (as well as the kit figures), EZ line for railings and rigging (brill stuff) and a bit of string for the ropes. Thanks for looking. colin
That really is good, you sure it's 1/72, just one thing, you might want to reposition the crew on the port side 1

seadog
Brilliant build! I would question whether the (excellent) weathering is right. The RN only had them for a brief period from new before they went to Indonesia. I used to see Brave class boats in Guernsey. They were kept pretty tidy. Just my nit-picky nature.... Oh, and I agree with Colin....
Shar2
I have to agree with Seadog, although you have done a very nice job on the build. I believe they went to Malaysia and they were modified from the original design, much like the Danish Soloven class, as the British Brave class didn't have the extended wheelhouse, so in reality you shouldn't have the White Ensign raised. Oh, and the bloke coming out of the stbd side hatch looks like he's doing something naughty to the chap in front of him from certain angles. I'm sure it is just a mistake, not a reference to the Navy from a pongo?

Lynx7
Thanks for the kind words everyone. Shar2, yep had a bit of a dilemma. Wanted to do it as RN but didnt want to chop it around too much (the kit was built in a short time as a stress reliever and diversion from Lynx). Not strictly accurate but I actually prefer the lines of the extended bridge of the export version.
Shar2
Yeah, I know what you mean, it does look better than the original Braves, shame Tamiya didn't provide parts for both.
StewartA
Wow. Just an amazing example of how to build this model. Thanks so much for sharing. Now onto my own attempt - first model for 30 years.

Darby
Always liked the idea of doing one of these one day. That looks like a fine job. Weathering may be a bit heavy in places for some and I'm no expert but you could always blame top part of ship for that.

Cklasse
I just had the rare opportunity to get my hands on one recently for Sin$50. Would love to build it but found it difficult to find pictures for reference.
MRMRL
That's a great finish. I've not been interested in the large scale MTBs and subs before, but having seen this and a few others in these pages, it's starting to get tempting...
