russ c
Hi all, I`m fairly new here and don`t build many ships but I thought I`d show you my 1st maritime effort: Trumpy`s 1/350 Hornet I know it`s a B-25 short but I wasn`t buying another set just for one aircraft (you only got a couple with the kit) so I just pretend it`s being loaded and parked. Hope it looks ok to you. Edited September 27, 2012 by russ c

Cheers Will, Yeah they took a while, but not compared to how long the railings took, I don`t get on with P.E.

foxy
Looking good Russ. Not built any Aircraftcarriers. Excellent work there and the USS Hornet turned out for what is now a famous bombing run. The other B-25 has still not been loaded
Jockster
Nice build, I've got the trumpy Mitchells, just not the carrier to go with them yet! Look forward to your next one. Jockster.
TCinLA
It's great work on what I know is a difficult kit, but I have a question: what are the two US Navy aircraft? They look like Avengers, but there were no Avengers in the fleet yet in April 1942. Also,. VF-8 had not yet received F4F-4s. Having discussed the Doolittle raid with a number of participants over the years, the only planes on deck while the B-25s were there were the B-25s. Air defense was provided by Enterprise. Thanks TC, They`re the Wildcats that came with the kit, I know they`re not correct,..... But......There are photo`s about that show Dauntless Aircraft mingled in with the B-25`s. Link below.http://upload.wikime...e_Raid_1942.jpg As for the Wildcats, I like them . Beautiful! I really want this kit!
