Bri48
Hi all, picked this kit up for a bargain £4.99 (Front windscreen damage) from Mr model and added Two Bobs Decals. Apart from the damage it made up into a decent 105. Brian. Edited September 26, 2012 by Bri48

JosephLalor
Excellent work. Bit of an education for me in that I didn't know that that version of the European I scheme appeared on the Thunderchief as well as the Phantom. Joseph
Bri48
Hi Joseph, yes I believe it was painted in this scheme in the last remaining day of the Thud. A couple were painted in wrap-around of the SEA scheme also one was painted in a sort of tan wrap-around, both of which are on the decal sheet. There's also another one which I am looking for in which the tan was replaced with a light green colour, which visited RAF Sculthorpe in the 70's I believe. If anyone knows of any decals representing this aircraft i would be most grateful for the info! Thanks Brian. coneheadff
Loved that paint scheme from the first time I saw it back in the 80s...GREAT!!!
HL-10
Nice job! That colour scheme is really the business!
Dave A
Nice job. I found one of these to be an intensely frustrating build - wing warpage, knock-kneed landing gear and clunky parts - did yours start out better, or did you just fight it harder? Bri48
Nice job. I found one of these to be an intensely frustrating build - wing warpage, knock-kneed landing gear and clunky parts - did yours start out better, or did you just fight it harder? Hi Dave, I've built a few of these previous so I had a good idea of what to look out for. Anyway at £4.99 i couldn't resist it especially when I saw those wrap around decals. Like HL-10 and others have commented it really is a good looking scheme. The other one i'm searching for is a Sculthorpe machine whereby the tan was replaced with a lighter green, it looks really smart from memory, but as usual i've lost the picture. Thanks all for the comments.... Brian.

BrandX
Revell/Monogram kits seem to build up into the best models -maybe they just appeal to the best modellers...and me! What a beautiful representation of the late Thud. One of my particular faves, and I have the ingredients for the 'other' Hill wrap-around bird, 'Desert Fox', which will (eventually) be a Hobby Boss kit. Unfortunately! Congratulations on a magnificent piece of work. Edited September 26, 2012 by BrandX
Navy Bird
Very nice diorama, and one of the best jobs I've seen on a quarter scale Monogram Thud. Bravo! I have the Hill AFB wrap-around decal sheet for the F-105 in 1:72 scale. There's three schemes: SE Asia camouflage, European 1 Camouflage, and the Desert Fox mentioned above. One of these is intended for my Trumpeter F-105D, but I really can't make up my mind for which one! Maybe I should he one that covers the most rivets... corporate
Lovely paintwork, excellent finish all round, well done. I like the F-105 a lot, one of the all-time best looking jets, and when I finally get around to building some Vietnam War types the Thus will be among them. That was certainly a good price you found it for, too. I don't normally think about diorama possibilities but yours here is better than most, well executed. jynski
I actually saw this aircraft at an airshow at Grand Forks AFB, ND back in '83. Actually built a model of it years ago.

Christer A
This is the first time i've seen someone build a Euro-1 Thud! Superb job! I also have the decal scheme (in 1/72) in the stash, but i haven't gotten around to actually by two F-105D for it yet...

Bri48
Thank you all once again for your kind comments they are much appreciated. @ Brand x & Bill, hope to see you display the versions (whichever you decide) in the near future - plenty to choose from on the Two Bobs decal sheet. For me I might try the desert scheme, but the one below is really the one I would like to do, but i don't think markings are available for it....... Brian.
