Iain Hi Iain Yeah they've done a couple of the later NSR's, and the Rothmans NSR was an 80's version, but this is mooooost welcome in HRC colours... pte1643
Haven't they already done one of the '80s NSRs? They've made a few. I remember building the old Freddie Spencer kit of the mid 80's NSR with him in "Knee Down" pose, in Rothmans Racing colours... In fact I still got it in the loft somewhere. heloman1
Hi Steve, Thanks for the heads up on the new NSR Honda and thanks you to the good folk at Tamiya, I'm looking forward to this one, any release date? Now how about some of those multi cylinder Hondas (and others) from the '60's like the RC 166. As we speak I'm getting my Ducati '78 Hailwood conversion ready to take to the NNL on Friday. It won't be finished,so I enter it in the ''Primer Queen class. Colin on the Africa Station

pte1643
Hi, the one you talkin about is the Rothmans NS500 Yep, that's the kiddy. Got a bit fuzzy re the rider though, I made so many of them Tamiya bikes years ago (in fact, almost all of them) the memory had kind of blurred. I have the old Freddie Spencer NS500 triple in HRC colours (#3), but the Rothmans model (with rider) was Wayne Gardener (#7). Just been up in the loft . Found LOADS of them in various states of carnage all piled into a box. The Spencer one is in about 5 Million bits (although I'm not sure the kit had that many to start with ) The Gardener on is missing the screen, couldn't find that. Even found old "King Kenny" and his yellow and black TZR500, again, sadly the bike itself looks as if it's suffered a massive highside. Dragged a couple of them down and got a pic... Excuse the shocking build quality and condition, like I said they've been in a box in the loft for at least 25 years.
ocatlub
Hi, Hasegawa are releasing a 1/12 Yamaha YZR500 OW98 1988 ridden by Eddie Lawson I think, soon as well, this and the Honda will fill a gap in the plastic kit range as both have been done as expensive multi media kits. Should be good if their recent 250cc releases are anything to go by, Guy

(swoon) You know how hard to find that Kenny Roberts bike is now...(not gonna go into the ebay.. RARE, VERY RARE thing) Yeah you are right, The freddie NS was a starting rider and the Rothmans NS was a cornering rider, or racing rider as tamiya called it. Just btw, the kits with the riders are now quite rare, but especially the King Kenny YZR 500. so... watcha gonna dooooo with all them bike bits...
