I've been busy with my B-29 project but have got a little more done on this SP.

The engines have been blended in nicely and now the model has had a partial coat of primer to check for blemishes. So far, so good...

Also the decals have arrived from Hawkeye Models in Australia:

They look great, and give me the option of building either of Qantas' SPs. I flew on VH-EAB in June 2001 so this is one I'm going to build.

Just to prove I'm still plodding on with this build...

Believe it or not I've had a few days dry enough to get some paint on the mini-jumbo:

As usual, I used Halfords' car paints.

Finally she's ready for some decals....

More progress... decals are on!

I've never used any decal sheets from Hawkeye Models before but they were excellent!

Here is the SP now:

Now it's just a case of waiting for a reasonably mild and dry day (ha ha I hear you say!) to get some laquer on her before adding the finishing touches.

is there something up with the diheral of the wings Tom?

or just the lack of legs atm?

It sits a little low now because as you say, no gear on yet. When the wing legs and wheels are on that'll be remdied... I hope

I've got the 747SP finished today.

All in all this was a straightforward and thoroughly enjoyable project.

Decals from Hawkeye were fantastic, as were the Braz RB211 replacement engines.

I hope you enjoy...
