Oh no...! When it was just discussion, I could quite happily convince myself that I didn't need one of these. But now I've seen pictures it has become real. There's no way I can live my life without one of these. Willya just look at that weapons bay! :D

Can I have it now please? :bounce:

Nice choice of markings ! The model is sure a huge improvement over the hasegawa kit, the level of detail that can be seen in the pictures is great.

I see that Meng has captured the rounded shape of the radome, although maybe a little overdone. This is one kit that will join the stash for sure as soon as it's released.

Our review sample arrived this morning, and it looks grand - I think the panel lines might be just a trick of the light, as it didn't stand out to me. I'll be sending it off to Paul as soon as possible for an inbox review and then build review :)

I agree , Digital cameras tend to "magnify" the apperance "of panel lines , and this coupled with the larger than life online blowups of kits tends to make things look larger than they really are to the naked eye...

Can i just say that im sick to death of Magazines blowing 1/72nd scale models up to 48th and 32nd scale double pages spreads ? , youre not doing the kit or the model maker any favours guys :P

Fair point - I'm very much looking forward to getting my mitts on this kit, either way. And hoping that the Hasegawa relic plummets in value, so I can obtain one cheaply, to convert it into a two seater! :)

Hi all

My Meng F-102 arrived last week from HobbyEasy in HongKong. It's a nice kit, a big improvement on the Hasegawa kits of which I paid pretty huge sums for on Ebay over the last year or two!!

Only area at first glance I can see in need of attention are the Falcons and the rear of the ejection seat which need a little fettling. Overall 'feel' of the kit is one of quality. Very impressed and there is a separate sprue for wings tips/trailing edges so clearly a Case XX version is on the cards.

I would be interested to know how the Show Special Hannants have advertised differs?

Ive noticed that the fuselage sprue contains the intakes, splitters and nose cone as well.

this is probably just coincidence but it could indicate that a TF102 sprue could be on the cards .... (as it would also need new intakes, splitters and nose cone...)

(sadly the cockpit tub and seat is on another sprue but that could easily be replaced by a side by side tub on a new sprue as

well.........Fingers crossed )
