Max Headroom
Topic says it all really. I'm looking for roundels and serial sheets in 1/72 scale for a future project. There seem to be numerous sheets for specific types but none like the Modeldecal/Xtradecal sheets. I'm specifically looking for the mid 1930's just before the RAF went dark earth/dark green. Thanks in advance Trevor
Patrik
You can start with Modeldecal sheets 104 - 107. Interwar numbers, letters, roundels - various sizes. I can highly recommend all of them. Hannats still list plenty of 104-106. Patrik

Manipled Mutineer
Sorry to resurrect such an old topic, but can anyone who has MD104 tell me if the letter R is included? It doesn't appear to from the picture on the Hannants website.
Tripod
No R, I think because the last pre-war serial issues were in the L range. So you get A to H, J to L and S. The only Rs are in the words "Pre-War Serials"! Pete
Graham Boak
Not quite true: a rebuild Jxxxx would become JRxxxx. Otherwise yes.
Manipled Mutineer
Thanks Pete, I feared as much! Looks as though I may be out of luck with the serials. I am doing a build of a Mustang, FR901, and the R in the serial is a fairly uncommon shape, not like those in the commonly-available sets, unfortunately. Paul J
Thanks Pete, I feared as much! Looks as though I may be out of luck with the serials. I am doing a build of a Mustang, FR901, and the R in the serial is a fairly uncommon shape, not like those in the commonly-available sets, unfortunately. You need the other decal sets for those. Set 36 inModeldecal range or equivalent ones by Ventura or even Xtradecal!
Manipled Mutineer
Unfortunately neither Ventura (VA7252) or Xtradecal (X72157, which is a reprint of MD36B) carry quite the right shape. I suspect that my subject has an odd, one-off serial (it was a trials aircraft).
Work In Progress
If it is black, just scan that in, touch out the rivets (even MS Paint is good enough for that) reduce in size and laser print on clear decal sheet. Jennings Heilig
How about this?
Black Knight
Take an 8, cut away the bottom left vertical, angle, bottom and lower right angle, add a long vertical stripe [an I or 1] for the back of the R, and half an I for the forward leg. I've pieced together code letters this way before. Its easy enough. I cant be bothered to do a print session for just one set of codes.
