Which is the best 1/35 Elefant/Ferdinand kit?

I have always been interested in the Elefant/Ferdinand and was contemplating buying a kit. my son is currently working on the Dragon PZKW IV and are very impressed with the incredible detail on his kit. I would assume that the Dragon version of the Elefant/Ferdinand is as good. Any advice?

Yes it will be 1/35. Both kits are weighing in at over £50 RRP so pays yer money and take yer chances. Dragon will have the better detail and Tamiya will have the better fit. The dragon kit will have all the etch included and I'm guessing with the Tamiya kit it will be extra (but that is just a guess going by previous Tamiya kits).

Oh and Dragon instructions can be a bit of a 'mare so take your time and read through them, they have a habit of telling you to glue bits on here and there without being specific to an actual vehicle but that depends on how nit-picky you are.

Nice one Andy mate.

Yep you have to watch the reverse slope on there Instructions, being its in Chinease English.

Seem to start from right to left, but no problem if you know what your looking at. :coolio:

I have the Dragon Kit 6465 (with Zimmerit) and the detail is superb. You get PE and metal barrel included too. Whether the Tamiya kit betters it remains to be seen.

I guess the downside is that Dragon generally, aren't as easy to build as Tamiya.

I am pretty familiar with Tamiya's proclivities with earlier kits, the translation left much to be desired. I remember building the original 1/25 Tiger I when it came out in 1969/70 and the instructions called for 250 track links per tread, well they didn't give me enough links so I took the kit back figuring there was some screw up in Japan. I got another kit with the same instructions and same amount of links, but this time I tried what looked like it would fit. In the end I had extra links and Tamiya ate the cost of the previous kit. Early aircraft kits were not much better. But according to my son the PZKW IV by Dragon has gone together quite well and he has not had problems with the instructions. He does need an electron microscope to assemble some of the parts though!

Cheers
