Metallicus
Hello All Thought I would share my current build that I started a couple of months back, I have been posting the WIP on another forum so I'll just cut and pastes it here. Got the tail boom straightened and together and on the skids. That was a fiddly job and a terrifying prospect of removing the parts from the sprue's. Apologies for the shitty pics. Next up will be the engine and fuel cell. Cheer for looking Brenden Evening Gents Been making some progress on the Alouette. Made a start on detailing the engine with bits of different size wire and Tamiya tape. Left side: Top: Right side: bottom Engine and fuel cell dry test fit. I also decided to remove the moulded seat belts and use tissue soaked in glue to try an add a textured look to the seats. Here is how the first one came out. I wanted to add a little something to the skids as they look quite bland with not much detail. Then remembered a little trick Shark64 used on his skids for his current Huey build. I cut thin strips of Tamiya tape and wrap them around the skids. I does not look like much now but after a bit of paint and dry brushing I should be able to get the desired effect. Here is a link to pic so you can see what I'm talking about on the Alouette skids. Thats all for now. Bheers Brenden Got some more work done on the engine, its starting to get fiddly as now I have to leave lengths for when it get's plumbed into the various tanks and boxes. found a spare piece of PE in the spares box and used it as a fuel filler cap. Added some detail to the tail boom by threading some thin soldering wire through the moulded pulleys for the tail rotor control cable and some very thin copper wire stripped out of an old electrical cable for the antenna. Again apologies for the crappy pics, my camera seems to be a bit hit and miss at the moment. If the sun decides to shine here in the UK again I'll take some decent pics outside. Cheers Brenden Evening Small update. I decided to get the Eduard PE set and it arrived today so I started removing moulded parts and replacing it with PE. Also managed to finish up the seats. As always thanks for looking. Cheers Brenden

Metallicus
Well after moving and settling into the new house I've cracked on with the Alouette. Mainly more work on the engine and repairing damaged parts from the move. Engine detailing is pretty much complete now just a few little pieces to add. I've manage to add few more PE pieces to the frame Here is where I'm at with the cabin, I'm scratch building the rear seat and have added some tie down rings from the PE spares box. Colour should the seats be? I'm going to redo the "material" section so I can get neater holes for where the seat belts go through. Thanks for Looking Cheers Brenden

Anthony Kesterton
Impressive work on what looks like a very fiddly-looking kit. I like the material effect on the seats too.

Metallicus
Evening Gents Well after some encouraging comments above I have cracked on with the rear of the cabin. After being supplied with some detailed pics I made some changes to the rear wall. I have added what I suppose are reinforcing strips to the rear wall and a sausage of Milliput to the top where the rear seat frame work attaches too. Tidied up the area and a quick squirt of matt black and a bit of highlighting and this is what I got. Not much will be seen when the fabric is joined to frame. As always thanks for looking and any critic welcome!! Cheers Brenden Edited August 30, 2012 by Metallicus

Metallicus
Evening Gents Got a bit more work done on the cabin area. I wasn't very happy with my first attempt at the rear seat so I started again. I soaked a piece of toilet paper in glue and let it dry. Transferred the markings and measurements on to the paper and started cutting. Glue the paper to styrene strips and and cut the holes for the seat belts, and test fit in place. After a bit of clean up and paint here how it looks in place. PE ip panel and some other fiddly PE bits fitted Popped the repainted front seats and everything else in for a dry fit using Blu-Tac to see how everything is coming together. The front seat belts look a bit undersized so I'll probably make new ones using the foil from a wine bottle... Just a quick update on this build, I've got some colour on the Alouette now, I could not take looking at that blue plastic anymore.... , it's more of a primer coat than a final coat, hopefully tomorrow I'll paint the engine and fuel tank up ready for shading and washing on Friday. As always thanks for looking and any comments and critiques welcome! Cheers Brenden Edited October 3, 2012 by Metallicus
