jonas_415 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Just caught up with this thread - some really neat, excellent work. Coming along fantastically!
Jeenyus Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Looking really good Erwin! Is there going to be any barbed wire added too?
Erwin Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Looking really good Erwin! Is there going to be any barbed wire added too? Thank you all for the nice comments. I've been thinking about the barbed wire. In real scale it's about 3 mm. So I don't know if I can find metal wire thin enough to represent it in 72 nd scale. I don't want to use a wire in 72 nd scale that, when converted to 1/1 scale, would be 3 cm.That's just not realistic. I then rather leave out the barbed wire that having it on the dio that is way to thick.
Jeenyus Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Yeah, I agree that out-of-scale wire would look silly! Just out of interest, I had a quick look on Little Cars and they have steel wire at .08mm, which gives a scale thickness of 5 mm. Not much difference, right? Sorry, I have just made a lot more work for you, haven't I?
philp Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Several tutorials out there on Google. Search 1/72 barbwire. As for wire size, there is some very fine stuff hidden in old crashed hard drives.
Erwin Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 I'm changing a bit yet again. I didn't like the straigt long trench and rectangle after all. I'm still unsure what to do now. But I will come up with something. 1
Erwin Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 I decided to just fill it with sand.Another weapon would have crowded it to much. The possible color differance will be camouflaged with extra grass. 2
thomastmcc Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 looking good mate ,personally i would have made it a mortar trench or just for infantry .. thomas
Hamden Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 How is this progressing - I am really enjoying watching the way you are developing this. Roger
Pete in Lincs Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I swear I can smell the sea! Great work, Erwin.
