1/24th Buccaneer - detailed and picture heavy build

Recommended Posts

I finally got everything together to be able to produce a number of 1/24th Buccaneers. This thread will be a thoroughly documented WIP so that anybody who wants a set of parts can see exactly what they'd be getting, and the work involved. It will also be the instruction manual! Please bear in mind that this wasn't originally intended as a commercial offering.

For those who may want one, I'll post a price once I'm substantially into this build. That way people will be able to see exactly what I'm offering. General Melchett has also agreed to do a review and a set of parts, just as anybody else would receive, is on it's way to him tomorrow.

Now i want one but will i be able to make an RAF S2B Buccaneer with the bulbous bomb bay?

It looks the fudgin bizz and looks a rite challenge but I'm up for that.

Clive

The bulbous weapons bay is a part included - the aircraft I'm modelling this time will be XW530, 12 Sqn, currently outside The Buccaneer Garage in Elgin. It's handy too as it's only 11 miles from me.

Ohhh Xmas has come early !!! Looking forward to receiving this lot Stuart. Think I'll have to clear the bench asap...or get another one.... A friend of mine who lives in my village is former wing commander R A 'teddy' Edwards , ex CO of 16 squadron who flew Buccs from Laarbruch from 1972 to 1975, (was also ferry pilot from Martelsham Heath to units for a period and helped on the development of some of the avionics systems and so got to fly a lot of em at the time, his log book makes great reading ), his knowledge, experiences and stories are second to none and his interest in this model........well you can imagine......so I'll be calling on his services for this one, (mainly at the Bottle and Glass of course........all in the line of duty you understand !)...

Melchie....
