EE Lightning F.6 - AIRFIX - 1/48

Super work on the undercarriage bays, on my T.5 I opted to use the CMK resin undercarriage bays, but the amount of hacking, sanding, filing and swearing involved in getting them even close to fitting really wasn't worth all the hassle. Looking at these it shows that a bit of scratch-building is quite often a much better way to approach things rather than just throwing resin at something!

Looking forward to seeing more of this!

love the way you did the coil, another cool tip for the future, :ninja: thanks.

I've learned with someone so I think it is fair if I teach what I know!

Sometimes it's nice to try some "scratch" but only "sometimes"...

Excellent work so far! :)

This looks like a great kit, and I love the Airfix box art.

Thanks mate!

Looking excellent.

Working on a 1/144th Lightning so i'll try and replicate some of this detail!!

Thanks Michael and Ninja! :thumbsup2:

The Carpet Monster has struck again and has eaten one "Micron PE" ... so I have had to find a solution:

I know I need to align but I'll wait until the glue is 100% dry.

Just came across this one - wow, I should pay attention more often. This looks great, your extra detailing is really exciting. I'm really looking forward to seeing more, keep it coming!

Cheers,

Bill

Why is it never easy?!

I'm struggling with Alclad Gloss Black Base... I don't know why but it became matt!!! So I've decided to polish it with Micromesh and airbrush it again... but micromesh rubbing a plastic surface creates static!!! My model now is black but covered by dust!!!
Damn it!!!
