rossm
Does anyone have any details for how to convert a Tiger Moth into a Queen Bee - there may have been an article in Airfix Magazine? I know it wasn't quite the same as a Tiger Moth so is the supposedly less accurate Airfix kit a better starting point than an Aeroclub one ? Thanks in advance, Ross
JOAN
Ross, There is a special database in Aeroplane Monthly 2002, n°4. I didn't find yet my sample but here a link : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aeroplane-Monthl...=item5d326fbd21 I remenber a 3D view and some details about this special type. I don't know - sorry - a special Airfix Mag about the "Q B". Someone ? cheers Olivier
Test Graham
The Airfix kit is indeed inaccurate, not "supposedly" so. However, the QB was not so different as to make the Airfix kit any nearer a QB than a Tiger. There is also a Pavla kit, which is surely more available than the Aeroclub one. The best source I know is Stuart Mackay's masterful tome on the Tiger Moth.
rossm
I have both Airfix and Aeroclub kits so the Aeroclub looks like the one to choose. The query about an Airfix magazine article was based on a previous post but I've found a contents listing for Airfix magazine and nothing is mentioned http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/mags/uk/ukmag05.htm#airfix
John Aero
The Queen Bee differed from the Tiger in that it had a slab sided wooden fuselage (basicaly a 60.G111 fuselage). You will have to flatten off the sides and add the dynamo windmill prop and of course the floats. all the flying surfaces are the same as the Tiger. There is not one accurate line in the Airfix Tiger BTW. John
