Enzo the Magnificent
1/48 or 1/72 ? In 1/72 scale the 2 kit were issued at around the same time so they were separate (altough with common parts). 1/72. Thankfully, it seems I was wrong. The Heller website shows that the Etendard IV will be re-released later this year!

Yes, I've just found it to! Thats good news, glad the three I have in the stash cost me no more than a tenner each though Colin
Paul J
The Draken with all versions like the two seater, recce nose and standard fighter version in one kit would be nice too!!

Gary C
I notice that Hannants are showing a 1/48 F4U-7 Corsair and a 1/48 Jaguar A as future releases. Are these new moulds? Can't remember if the F4U-7 was Heller's own mould or leased from someone else but I think it was a bit basic IIRC. The Jag is the Airfix kit with a different nose and weapons. The F4U-7 is their own and quite honestly, it's crap. They forgot to lengthen the nose for starters, there's no detail and it's raised panel lines throughout. Given the prescence of the beautiful Hasegawa kit and it's Revell repop there's no good reason to buy one.
chrisov
Hello, does anyone know why the massive prices for the 1/48 S Etendard Afghanistan and Mirage 2000 D Khandahar? I know they know include some etch and resin(?) but from the box tops it seems a small amount for a major hike in prices over similar sizes eg Mirage 2000 C / IVP. Is there something extra? Thanks Cheers Chris

ThanksCheers Chris I've just had a look at an older review of the AMX-30B2 and it's expensive because it includes pretty much an entire resin upgrade from Azimut. Still expensive, but not quite so hard to take. The SuE is a little different - see here. For the original release, €45 was probably OK. The current price - well, you decide, I guess. 172flogger
The Draken with all versions like the two seater, recce nose and standard fighter version in one kit would be nice too!! I think some mould were sold and still produced in south or central America: Draken Gladiator Natter + Fi-104 Jaguar single/double seater - replaced by Airfix Alphajet - replaced by Airfix, but still reboxed by Revell F-104 single/double seater MiG-19 Ar-96B Many kits are still produced by Czech Směr toy factory (mainly 1/72 WW2 types) Some wanted kits were "destroyed" by retooling Mirage F.1B/C single/double seater - retooled to CR/CT and C replaced by Airfix Javelin T.3 - retooled to Mk.9 Boeing 707 - retooled to E-3 sentry by deleting windows But what happened with these kits? Super Broussard both 1/75 and 1/50 versions 1/72 MiG-21F 1/72 Art En Ciel 1/100 Concorde prototype 1/72 Bobkit/Bobcat toys - Harrier T.4, F-16A, F-4F, Airfield vehicles, MD-500 + VAB Commando set... 1/72 AMX 30 Bi-tubes 1/72 AMX 13 both 105 and bi-tubes versions ... Glen T
Had the bus years ago a nice model will have to get another one, The 1/8 Citroen 15CV is a car I've always liked and would be nice to build but £150 is a tad out of my price range in these times of austerity, it's good to see some classics being reissued though. GEEBEE Z
Just to update you on the situation.Heller have always been in business although we have not been importing them regularly over the last few years due to some 'pricing issues' which we hope have now been sorted out. Across the range we have managed to bring the prices down by around 20% (hence the restock) and with a large number of re-issues available we have seen a large amount of interest since the delivery last week. As noted already some of the kits are still quite expensive imo but unfortunately they are the best prices we can offer and most of the range is now competitive. With regards to the Chebec it was not quite ready for our shipment but should be in the UK by the end of the month. Stuart ..................Must buy Chebec, must buy Chebec You may have guessed by now,I'm a bit of a fan of that kit.

Foxbat
Woohoo. Always had a soft spot for Heller, so I am a happy bunny. Two Mirage III are already in the post to get me started. I may have to make room for an AMX 13/75 too. Andy

Glen T
I wonder how much the bus will be now ?????? I must admit that thought crossed my mind after posting, looking at the price of the Citroen it is a worry. Mind you their 1:16 Citroen DS19 hardtop is £53 so does that imply the 1/24th bus will be a bit cheaper or between the two or possibly competitively priced in relation to the Revell Routemaster Edited August 3, 2012 by Glen T
Albeback52
Oh,and did I mention the Chebec.................................................. .......Must not buy, must not buy............150 quid at Hannants....................... ..................Buy it,buy it.............. Lol!!! I built the beautiful Le Soleil Royale over 20 years ago! It was very expensive even then but, I think it was worth every penny. One of the most cost effective models I ever bought. It kept me busy for about 15 months. The Real de France looks gorgeous!! I am SERIOUSLY tempted! Pity there's no EC121 though..............................!!! I don't know if these historic ships were produced in large numbers but, I 've built several over the years and, while a bit expensive, they were excellent quality. I had the Soliel Royale too,got it for a mere 60 english pounds, looked in the box,saw the part count, and thought fluk off!!!!!!!!!!!!!Kept it for a few year, then sold it on evilbay for a profit.Saw one built and what a beautiful model.I wouldn't have been able to do it justice. But,I did build a Reale de France, the box was so big it wouldn't fit in me car,it is massive. When you open the box,you think, why? It is a large kit,but the packing is way over.Still,I actually got it finished, and it is a stunner.A LOT of detail painting, esp on the hull. All those Fleur de Lys.................ooooooooo luvly. This is still available at Modelhobbies for 90 english pounds,so am tempted again. But dont tell SWMBO,cos she found out how many are in the loft!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol!! This conversation did NOT take place!! ! I think £90 is very reasonable for a model of this size and complexity - at least in terms of value for money. As I said earlier, Le Soleil Royale was the most cost effective model I ever built. Cost me the equivalent of 1 weeks wages but, kept me busy for 15 months!! That is how I personally measure good value. In real terms, of course, Le Soleil Royale ( even at £149.99) is actually cheaper now than it was 20+ years ago.. It now costs the equivalent of half a weeks pay! I wouldn't even contemplate paying £100+ for ( for example) a Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire or P-51. These are, in my view outrageously overpriced for what you get and actually represent very poor value. just my opinion of course.Value, like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. I hope to take early retirement next year and, both of the above mentioned ship kits are going to feature in my long term retirement plan!! Lol!! My girlfriend of course is shaking her head as I type this!! She's refused to buy me ANY kits until I make inroads into my stash!! Just for the record, I'm primarily a miltary aircraft modeller but, I do build the occasional floaty thing!

Just for the record, I'm primarily a miltary aircraft modeller but, I do build the occasional floaty thing! I started out floaty, then it was military aircraft, every modeller has to build a spit, then I discovered 1930's racing planes, did a lot of those, now I build anything that may take me fancy. The very first Chebec I got was the old Imai one, which I thought was good,so good have had a few thru me grubby little mitts, and still have one in the dining room. I was blissfully unaware that Heller even made a Chebec until Evilbay, and thats when I got me first one, which again I still have, tho its over due for some restoration as A,its as dusty as buggery(not in a case, and B,I didnt do such a good job with it as I thought. It's rather ironic that, the day I got me paws on a one from ebay,lo and behold,I find out that it's being reissued! Must buy I certainly agree with you,re,tamigawa things, very pricey for what you get.But its different strokes, etc.I know I just wouldn't pay that much. Although, may have a tough time explaining that to SWMBO,when a bloody big parcel lands at the door containing a certain Heller reissue.
