Robert Stuart Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) While I'm waiting for paint to wing it's way in for my Il-2, I had a biy of a dig around in my stash, looking for a Po-2 (U-2), I found this ... I'm not sure about the scheme I'll use, though I found an all grey aircraft that is appealing Edited July 29, 2012 by Robert Stuart
SaintsPhil Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Interesting subject, I like the optimistic box art!!
Chris Jephcott Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 Now this will be really interesting! I look forward to seeing this develop!

Robert Stuart Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 (edited) The sprue shots ... Having just handled the plastic, I can see that some of the location points will need drilling out Edited July 29, 2012 by Robert Stuart
Learstang Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 That looks quite nice, Robert. I'll be following this project with great interest. Is the all-grey one Yugoslavian? Regards, Jason
Robert Stuart Posted July 29, 2012 Author Posted July 29, 2012 Thanks Jason, There is a Yugoslav machine in the box, but that's shown as green. I'm thinking of Stupin's no 5 "Za Borisa Safonova!" (40 BAP), iff I can confirm the colour, and if I have the courage to paint the slogan Failing that, there are a couple of other's on Soviet War Planes (http://mig3.sovietwarplanes.com/pe2/pe2camo/pe2camo.htm) that will be more approachable
smuts Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Now that looks good, been after a Pe-2 for ages too. Andy.
Robert Stuart Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 (edited) Looking for Revell Contacta, I found some Humbrol tube cement (remember that stuff!) in a LMS. I think these thicker plastic glues suit my style better than super glue, and will (I hope) have better model-2-model sticking power (SG seems to be great for sticking modeller-2-model) So, I've started waving glue and hairy sticks around ... As I suggested earlier, this is a model where a pin-vice and drill are a great help - location holes seem to be in the right place, but are very shallow Andy, this is a nice kit (so far), but I'm not sure how easy it will be to find - there was a comparison of the Historic (Pe2 series 1-105) and MPM (Pe2-UT) kits on Internet Modeller in 2001 (link: http://www.internetmodeler.com/2001/may/fi...e2-mpm_pe2.htm).
