Russian craft company PhantomModels or F4Models (http://www.phantommodels.com/index.php?ukey=home) introduces itself as "an international online shop for scale model kits and accessories. Our current focus is on models of our own manufacture, and we start our activities from offering flight deck vehicles and support equipment kits to help you build carrier deck dioramas."

The F4Models catalogue (http://www.phantommodels.com/index.php?ukey=home) proposes some Royal Navy's flight deck tractors in 1/72nd and 1/48th scale with photoetched sets and decals.

1/48th: http://www.phantommodels.com/index.php?cat...slug=1-48models

Good to know these are going to be available soon. Very useful for a little extra colour beside the various RN aircraft models from those eras.

Here's a couple of recently issued kits; not Royal Navy, though, but U. S. Navy.

1:72 BNO-40 flight deck tractor – U.S. Navy
This type of flight deck tractor was first used by the U.S. Navy in the early WWII years. It served on carriers of all classes - including CVs, CVLs and CVEs - until mid 1950s, helping to manoeuvre aircraft on busy decks throughout the World War II and the Korean war. After the war some went to work for the French Navy along with their mother ships that became R96 La Fayette and R97 Bois Belleau.

1:72 A/S32A-32A hangar deck tractor – U.S. Navy
The A/S32A-32A tractor, informally known as "spotting dolly", is specially designed to tow, turn and position aircraft in confined spaces of hangar decks and elevators. The vehicle is currently in active service on all U.S. Navy carriers and large deck amphibious ships.

Hi All

Please let me inform you that yet another one of the kits mentioned in the head post is now available.
This is the 1:48 scale light flight deck tractor of the Royal Navy from the 1940s-1950s.

And here's a couple of photos that show the real thing on the carrier deck:

They certainly look excellent, I wouldn't mind seeing a Sentinel Tugmaster, for towing all those V-Bombers and Transport planes, I know there is a 1/76 scale one in white metal but I don't think I have seen one in 1/72
